We’ve Got an Exciting Schedule!

HealthCampNash is almost here, and we’ve got a great schedule lined up for you. Here’s a taste of what’s to come:

Things get started with registration opening at 8 a.m., a Pre-Camp “How-To Social Media Clinic” at 8:30 a.m., and the welcome and keynote at 9 a.m.

Keynote speaker Paul Meyer kicks it off with a his presentation on “Mobile Health: Lessons from Around the World.” Paul is Co-Founder, Chairman, and President of Voxiva. Before co-founding Voxiva, Paul Meyer was Founder and Chairman of IPKO, the first and largest Internet service provider in Kosovo. Started in the weeks after the 1999 war, IPKO was hailed by the U.N. Secretary General as “a model for future humanitarian emergencies.” He was recently named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and MIT’s Technology Review Magazine named him one of 100 technology pioneers and their 2003 Humanitarian of the Year.

Our afternoon keynote speaker is Dr. Jim Jirjis, presenting on “When the Provider Takes Action: How a Powerful Web Portal Can Empower and Support Patients and their Doctors.” He is the Chief Medical Information Officer, Assistant Chief Medical Officer, Director of Adult Primary Care, and Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Jirjis is the chairman and developer of the MyHealthAtVanderbilt Patient Web Portal and will be sharing with us about provider-tethered web portals as an example of technology empowering the patient and supporting the doctor-patient relationship.
